The Problem We Solved

If you have ever applied for a government exam in India — SSC, UPSC, Railway, or a passport — you know the struggle. The portal asks for a photo between 20KB and 50KB. Your photo is 2MB. You search for a tool, find websites full of ads and sign-up walls, and end up uploading your Aadhaar card to some server in another country, wondering if your personal document is safe.

This happens to millions of Indians every exam season. PDF Vault was built to solve this once and for all.

How It Works — Privacy by Design

PDF Vault works completely differently from most online tools. Every single operation — photo compression, PDF compression, image conversion — runs directly inside your browser on your own device. When you compress a PDF, the compression happens in your Chrome or Safari browser tab, not on any server. Your files never leave your device. This is not just a privacy policy promise — it is how the technology works. We literally cannot see your files even if we wanted to.

Who Built PDF Vault

PDF Vault is an independent project built and maintained by a solo developer based in India. It started as a personal tool to help prepare government documents, grew into something useful for friends and family, and eventually became a platform used by students, job seekers, and professionals across the country. The site is funded entirely through non-intrusive Google AdSense advertising. The tools will always be free.

Our Mission

To make professional-grade document preparation tools available to every Indian with a phone and an internet connection. No subscription. No sign-up. No uploading sensitive documents to unknown servers. Open the site, use the tool, download the result.
